Hardwood

Design Center East offers an array of beautiful, natural hardwoods for your new home flooring. We carry a variety of woods including oak, cherry, maple, red birch, hickory, and walnut. We also carry many exotic hardwoods such as bamboo, lyptus, Brazilian cherry, and more. For every style and every color preference, we have a wood flooring product to make your home dreams come true.

 
Solid hardwoods come a full ¾” thick, and in widths varying from 2¼ to 5”. All wood comes with a micro-bevel for ease of installation and is pre-finished. Finishes are urethane-based with titanium or aluminum oxide additives making each piece of flooring more scratch-resistant and durable.
 
We also carry engineered hardwood flooring which has a plywood core with hardwood on top, with the same durable urethane finishes. This flooring is extremely stable and can be used below-grade or even with radiant heat. Many engineered floors can be stapled, glued or have a built-in locking mechanism for a floating floor install

Laminate

Laminate flooring is an attractive, affordable flooring solution for any home. Laminate comes in a variety of colors and patterns to suit any style or color scheme, including tile and hardwood-look. It’s a very durable material, scratch-resistant, and impact resistant – great for pets, kids, and heavy wear!

 
Laminate flooring is installed with padding underneath, and is a great solution for installation over non-removable floors, including those with asbestos. It’s even good for radiant heat. We do not recommend it for bathrooms or other rooms with moisture. All laminate flooring comes with urethane-based finish with aluminum oxide, the same high-durability finishes as hardwood.

Vinyl

At Design Center East, we carry two different types of vinyl flooring for your home. All vinyl flooring can be used in any room of the house and has urethane-based finishes, some even with aluminum oxide for maximum durability and scratch-resistance.

 
Vinyl Sheet Flooring offers a more traditional look and feel. It comes in a variety of colors, styles, and patterns to match any decor. Vinyl sheet flooring comes in 12’ or 13’2” widths, depending on the style. Our sheet goods have a fiberglass backing which helps prevent curling and makes it extremely repairable.
 
Solid Vinyl Flooring comes in both plank and tile form, which can be either glued or loose-laid. Solid Vinyl is typically made of PVC, some with recycled content and limestone chip. Solid Vinyl is a resilient and impact-resistant flooring – great for heavy traffic and busy families! The look is beautiful and the floors are easy to repair if needed.

Tile

Ceramic tile is beautiful, sophisticated flooring for any room of your home. Ceramic tile is available in a wide range of colors, patterns, and sizes to suit every style and color scheme. Perfect for wall-to-wall application, localized flooring for entries or mud rooms. Tile is a forever floor. It’s even great on walls for a kitchen counter backsplash or a tiled bathroom! 

 
Ceramic tile is as stylish as it is resilient, as one of the most durable, lifelong floors. Tile flooring is available from Daltile and Happy Floors.

Carpeting

Carpet is the most cost-effective and warmest flooring solution for your home. Carpeting is available in a wide variety of colors, textures, and designs. It is a versatile flooring material that can go anywhere. Great for any room of the house, except for kitchens and baths, it’s offered in wall-to-wall installation, as carpet tiles, area rugs, or as hallway and stair runners to protect hardwood from tough wear and tear.

 
Beyond colors and patterns, carpet comes in a variety of yarns. Wool carpeting is a naturally stain-resistant fiber. Nylon is the next most stain-impervious yarn for carpeting. For the most brilliant colors, PETs made of nylon and recycled content take dyes best to hold their hue.
 
Depending on the installation needs, carpeting is glued directly to a floor, tacked over padding or loose-laid for area rugs over padding. Good padding is essential in maintaining your carpet’s life. Padding gives longevity to carpet, and different types of carpet require different types of padding.
